The holidays are the time of year you finally have time off work and can fully enjoy the company of your friends and family. It can be cozy to enjoy a meal or snuggle on the couch, but when we call sunny south Florida home, embracing the holidays means getting out and about!
Bonnet House Orchid Festival. For the 11thyear in a row, the Bonnet House will host its orchid and exotic plant sale. The festival will also feature fruit trees, garden art and a Farmer’s Market if you get hungry from walking around all day. The venue alone is historic, beautiful and reason enough to attend the event, but if you’re looking for some last-minute Christmas gifts, this could be a unique present to give your aunt you never know what to get!
December Beach Day. Enjoying the holidays in Florida means picnics on the beach and strolls down A1A with friends and family. This may not be the norm for most other American states, but us Floridians are lucky enough to call this home- so what better way to spend time with the family than driving a couple miles to soak up some sun and build sand castles on your days off.
2017 Holiday Car Show. Relive memories of the cars of your youth and relish in the fantasies of your modern dream cars at this holiday event. The show will be debuting more than 600 cars of all makes, models, styles and categories.
Santa’s Enchanted Forest. The largest Holiday theme park in the world is happening in Miami’s Tropical Park. Families and friends can enjoy carnival rides, shows and games in the spirit of Christmas. Traditionally, the park will have a 92-foot tall Christmas tree and more than three million lights throughout the park. There are rides for everyone – from the iconic Ferris wheel to sky-high Mega Drop rides, everyone’s bound to have a good time.
Christmas on Las Olas. If you missed the actual event in November, Las Olas Boulevard still has a beautiful display of lights and decorations that are some of the best in the city. The area is glowing with white lights and decorations to get you in the holiday spirit. After admiring the light display and holiday ambiance, you can check out some of the boutiques or indulge in a fantastic meal (good luck choosing!) at one of the delicious restaurants Las Olas offers.
